DCP’s role in oral/systemic health education

Aims

• Identify the range of medical conditions linked with periodontal disease
• Discuss the oral and systemic health links
• Identify extra oral factors which may indicate health risks
• Describe our role in educating patients regarding systemic health

Objectives

• Improve understanding of the oral and systemic health links
• Increase knowledge regarding periodontal treatment and systemic health
• Raise awareness of appropriate referrals

Speakers

Katherine Moulton

Katharine graduated from Liverpool Dental Hospital in 2009 and went on to study at the University of Central Lancashire to complete her degree in 2013. Katharine has a keen interest in the oral and systemic health links which took her to study in Seattle in 2016. She has continued to develop her oral/systemic knowledge as well as exploring nutrition.
