in the wake of the 1992 fee cut and has developed into the foremost Independent Practitioner Group in the UK.

We aim to hold 4 -6 meetings per year which is great value. It is a lovely opportunity to attend a variety of lectures, catch up with other members in a wonderful local venue with a fabulous lunch included. We look forward to seeing you soon. Membership allows access to arguably the best postgraduate programme in the UK, at no further cost.

Jo Russell - Law & Ethiccal issues

Jo Russell - RDN Cert DPM Cert Ed LCGI MSET.  Jo has over 30 years’ experience in dentistry and has acquired considerable expertise in all areas of the business.  She is also qualified in Health and Safety and teaches on lots of subjects such as management, infection control, safeguarding, legal and ethical issues and other core subjects.  Jo was in the Royal Navy Dental branch for 7 years and was then appointed Area Manager for a large Dental Corporate looking after 16 practices in London and the South.  She is currently CQC Registered Manager for 2 private practices, runs her own consulting business and lectures both nationally and internationally

Lecture aims:

By the end of the session the delegates will have a clearer idea of how legal and ethical issues affect us day to day in dentistry

To be able to apply areas such as consent, confidentiality, complaints along with equality and diversity issues practically on a day to day basis

Consider the implication of consent also bearing in mind Gillicks competence and those with diminished capacity

Think about confidentiality and data protection

Confidently handle complaints and know how to prevent them

Apply equality and diversity in the workplace
